14 Dec 2026 – 2 Jan 2027 · ages 10–18

This holiday, your child builds a real app with AI and gets their own link to it.

10 live sessions. Your child describes an idea in plain English, an AI writes the code, and they test it, fix it and publish it to the web. On Demo Day they present it to you.

  • 10 sessions
  • Juniors 10–13 · Seniors 14–18
  • Benin City or live online
  • Demo Day: Sat 2 Jan

Built on the AI & Vibe Coding curriculum that already runs as a full-year graded subject in a Benin City secondary school.

Illustration of the workflow. Your child picks their own idea.

What your child builds

By 2 January they will have made something and put it online.

Each session has a build in it, so your child makes something every day instead of sitting through talks. Juniors and Seniors follow separate tracks pitched for their age.

01

A live app

Published on the web with its own link that opens on any phone.

02

Demo Day talk

They present what they built, the problem it solves and how they made it.

03

Certificate + recording

A certificate of completion and a recording of their Demo Day presentation.

04

AI credit to keep going

AfricanOps Starter credit is included, so they can keep building after the bootcamp.

Juniors · ages 10–13

Make it, play it, share it

For beginners. No typing in black terminal windows. Children work in the browser with staff-managed accounts, so they don't need to sign up for adult services.

  • S1–2Talk to an AI, build a colourful web page, publish it
  • S3–4A quiz game, then a clicker or memory game
  • S5–6A "my favourite things" site with pictures and pages
  • S7–8Make an app that remembers things, like a homework tracker
  • S9–10Finish, polish, rehearse, present
Final build: a game or helper app of their own design, live on the web.
Seniors · ages 14–18

Build a real product

The same path students follow in the full-year subject, compressed into the holiday: AI coding agents, then tools, then databases, then a real app with logins.

  • S1–2The vibe-coding loop: prompt, read, run, fix. First app published
  • S3–4Give the AI superpowers: build a weather tool (an MCP server) and a live dashboard
  • S5–6Add a real database, sign-up and login, and safety rules
  • S7–8Capstone: an app that solves a real problem, with a plan for how it could make money
  • S9–10Teach-back slides, polish, rehearse, Demo Day
Final build: a working web app with a database, a live link and a pitch.
Schedule

10 sessions, with Christmas left free.

No classes on 24–28 December or 31 December – 1 January. Demo Day is Saturday 2 January, before school resumes.

Who teaches

The team behind the full-year subject.

Lessons are led by people who teach this curriculum, using the same teacher's edition, step-by-step lesson scripts and marking rubric as the school course.

How we keep children safe

  • At least two adults are present in every session, in person and online.
  • No staff member ever has a private one-to-one video call with a child.
  • Online sessions are recorded, and recordings go only to that class's parents.
  • We contact parents, not children. Children don't need to give us a phone number.
  • Under-13s use staff-managed accounts, and their apps never collect real personal data.

Small groups, real help

Classes are capped at 24, with two adults in every class (at least one for every 12 children), so nobody is left stuck on an error for long.

Proof, and only the facts

This curriculum is already taught and examined in a real school.

"AI & Vibe Coding" runs as a full-year graded subject from JSS1 to SS2 in a Benin City secondary school. The bootcamp uses the same curriculum.

136

exam submissions graded in the third-term 2025/26 AI & Vibe Coding exam. To grade them, examiners opened each student's live app link and checked that it actually worked.

  • Project build: a working app, live on the web
  • Legacy question: earlier projects, still live and working
  • Slides: teaching the key ideas back to the class
  • Written explanation of how the app works

What students actually built

Students built real apps and deployed them live on the web: a weather app powered by an MCP server they wrote, to-do apps, and games.

Why AfricanOps exists

Students in the subject kept hitting the same problems: AI credit running out, painful installs, published links expiring, and nobody to ask for help. AfricanOps was built to fix those four problems, and the bootcamp runs on it.

You won't find star ratings or quotes from parents here because we haven't collected any yet. If you'd like to see examples of real student apps, ask us in the chat.

Pricing

One price covers all 10 sessions, Demo Day and the AI credit.

Questions parents ask

FAQ

Does my child need a laptop?

Yes, a laptop is strongly recommended. Any Windows 10/11 laptop, Mac or Chromebook with 4 GB of memory or more will do. Brand and age don't matter. We set up the AI tools for your child, so you don't have to install anything first.

No laptop? Here are your options:

  1. A phone works for the browser-based AI agent. An Android phone or iPhone with Chrome or Safari can build and publish an app. It's slower to type on, but it works.
  2. Add a Bluetooth keyboard to the phone to make typing much easier.
  3. A tablet with a keyboard works the same way as a phone.
  4. Benin City only: we have a small number of loaner laptops. Ask in the chat before paying to reserve one.

Each child needs their own device during sessions, so siblings can't share one.

My child has never coded. Is that OK?

Yes. The bootcamp is built for complete beginners. Children describe what they want in plain English, and the AI writes the code. They learn to read it, test it, fix it and improve it. Students who have coded before go further in the same sessions.

Is it safe? How do you protect children online?
  • At least two adults are present in every session. No staff member has a private one-to-one video call with a child.
  • Online sessions are recorded. Recordings are shared only with that class's parents, through a private link.
  • We communicate with parents. Children don't need to share a phone number, and we don't add children to chat groups.
  • Under-13s use accounts that our staff set up and manage, so they don't have to sign up for services built for adults.
  • Children's apps must not collect real personal data such as home addresses, phone numbers or school names. Teachers check every app before it is published.
  • Teachers supervise all AI use during sessions. We teach children to check what AI tells them rather than trust it blindly.
Will there be recordings?

Yes. Online sessions are recorded so your child can catch up on anything they miss. Every family also gets a recording of their child's Demo Day presentation. Recordings are never posted publicly without a parent's written consent.

What if we miss a session?

Watch the recording and bring any questions to the next session or to the optional help desk on Wednesday 30 December. Every session ends with a short task your child can finish at home.

What is your refund policy?

You get a full refund if you ask any time before the first session, or within 48 hours after the first session ends. After that, we can't refund, but you can transfer the seat to a sibling or a friend in the same track. Refunds go back to the account you paid from within 7 working days.

Which AI tools will my child use? Do I need to buy anything else?

No. AI access comes through AfricanOps, and a Starter credit is included in the price. Seniors also learn the professional tools used in the school course. Apps are published to the web with here.now. Free accounts are set up in Session 1, and staff manage them for under-13s.

Will my child keep their app and link after the bootcamp?

Yes. We publish every Demo Day app from a permanent account, so the links don't expire after a day. Your child also keeps their AfricanOps credit to carry on building and to update their app.

Will this get my child a job or a place at university?

We don't promise that, and nobody honestly can. What your child will have is a real skill, a working app with a link they can show people, and the confidence to build the next one.

We live abroad. Is online the same bootcamp?

Yes. It's the same sessions, tracks and Demo Day. Online classes run at 3pm UK and 10am US Eastern time. Demo Day is online, so grandparents in Nigeria can watch too.
